Creating a play (07/08)

I´m back.  This last weekend of holiday; we join up to organize our ideas for our one act play. It´s not been easy for me. Specially when i had nothing on mind and i had to think in what to put.
Writing a play isn´t so easy as i thought it would be, even more when it must be written between everyone. Everyone has different ideas and want them to be the one at the final script.

There were more problems that we faced rather than the clash of ideas. We usually got stick in a problem and didn't went further than that. We used to repeat ideas and things started going boring.
My production task was Props. I really don´t know what i´m supposed to search for.  Props seems to be a hard task. When i was doing make up at the school play; i had to research by my side and Kenzo, who was doing costumes, literally adapted to what i´ve done. I helped him but it really seemed as if the one adapting to the other was him.
In this case, i got the chance to work once more with him.  This time it seems like if i had to adapt to him. I´ve been searching about what could look good with scenery but it´s been a weird job. Specially when i had an idea and seemed that Kenzo had another one with some things.
When i first started creating my character i had a different idea from now. I saw her like a crazy one. Now it seems to be a perfect woman role try.

Still im having fun with it. What i don't like is that i must talk more than the other times. I totally dislike that.
This experience could help me to practice my English so.. im looking up to it.

What if an actor seems not to like the way the play develops for its character and decides to change the way it is going while they are performing and the other actors don't understand what is the other even doing? With all this i mean.. what if they must improvise but they dont understand what their companion is doing?

  1. A superficial entry. The part on playwrighting is quite poor. The part on production is a little better. The part on characterization and acting is also quite poor. You have to develop your ideas, explain them illustrate them, give examples, relate them to your own real and concrete experiences, even to the plays you've seen. Your final question sort of comes out of the blue, and isn't quite pertinent. I'm expecting a much better entry next time.
