El Interruptor

Last Monday, we watched a play named "El Interruptor"  which I really enjoyed. Especially because the dynamic in dialogues and actions.

"El Interruptor", main point was to show the audience of how much we did depend on technology and how we didnt continue being ourselfs. My partener opinion was, " I think this play wants to show us how we depend on technology and how we dont want to think and only depend on it". I think in part his opinion is right but in my case I think it was generally to show us how we depended on technology.

The play presented huge dynamic, especially on the actions. The characters kept moving all the time which made you pay a lot of attention to dont miss any of them. Because maybe one of them might have been very important to understand the play. But, it didnt only focused in making characterd dynamic in actions it also made the characters dynamic in dialogues.

In this case lights were essential for the play. Lights made the actors react in a different way. When light came from us, the audencie. The actors acted like a differnt character... which lately we found they were the program which was trying to complace us.. the public by performing different characters.
They had a big study in different kinds of characters and fast changes between them.

But, light wasnt the only thing which served for the change of characters, they also used a strange sound which transformed the actors in other characters.

In my opinion this was a very complicated play to form but lately it was a good one.
Still i wonder, why did they use different characters to give us a message? I mean... they could have show it by only the character they were at first. All characters had a great energy... why did they focused in using this type of characters and not other? How difficult was the part when they didnt saw the other one but had to do the same actions? I mean... this are very complicated things.

Imagination

During the last class we started a new theme. As well as the other classes we started with a warm up put things began to change when they told us to unplugg our different parts of  our body in a specific order.
While I did this i noticed how my attention went directly to a specific part of my body. Even though i had problems of focusing my energy in other parts that werent my abdomen like i am suppoused to do for Kabuki classes... I was able to focus it in other parts. In my opinion this exercise was to get to know your body and to get inside your imagination and give yourself an idea of how could that be.
But the excercise didnt end there, the exercise finished when we plugged once more to be able to move again our parts of the body. If it wasnt for the unplogg excercise i wouldnt been able to recognize some other parts of my body I think it is also to examine new parts. Meanwhile the plugging helps your imagination to work and start moving as if each part of your body was turning into popcorn.

When we finished this exercise we started another one which consisted in closing our eyes and imagine we were on a building and we had to walk  very carefuly not to fall.
I proved that when we closed our eyes it was even easier than when we had to imagine that we had to do that when our eyes opened because it was harder to imagine that. But if you practically take a picture in your mind of what you had when you were with your eyes closed then it would be easie to do it with your eyes opened.
This helps you to get involved in acting and dont think as you in a theatre if not think of you as if you were in that situation.

10/04/2011

Good night everyone! Tonight i would give some conclusions i got from my acrobatics exercise.
Like all fridays we did our warm up, pass of energy and afterwards we started the exercise we choose.

As you can read, last week i started with acrobatics bt i didnt got to a concreate conclusion. It was more the work of doing it than anything.
This week when i did my acrobatics exercise i got to control some things over my body such as equilibrum and speeds. I changed them quickly and tried to mantain a line while doing my exercise so my body wouldnt be the one doing the actions it wanted .
I was the one controlling where they were supoussed to go.

Still i dont get the main reason of all this...
would it be something to create an dinamic actor? i dont get it... i only know that i developed control over some parts of my body such as legs.

I got inspired on a ballet dancer to do this exercise.

ACROBATICS

So, I´m kinda tired today. I still have the pain of my spider practice movements. It really hurts but its fun.
My teacher told us that we gotta practice more english. We gotta be really bad so he tells us that.
Look at that! Im already doing errors!
Well, focus to the main point of this entrance.
At Fridays practice we had to apply the things we saw at the actress video.
We started with a warming up which included doing breathing exercises(which now i find easier), Focusing the energy (which i consider the most difficult because it hurts and also because you have to only focus in that part of your body and dont think  anything else), segmentation and then passing the energy to your partner. I still have some problems with the passing of energy because sometimes i dont get the direction of it and do it the wrong way. Im still practicing on it.

After our normal warm up we started our selected topic from the actress video.
I chose acrobatics. I decide to choose this topic because i found it interesting and i´ve been a caos for it. That´s why it was a great challenge for me.
I didnt get to do it right. First of all because i got lost and didnt knew what other things i could do and also i didnt get to do standing in hands slowly. But i did get to do it with other actions.
I also learnt to mantain equilibrum but after that nothing else.
Im willing to get better in these things so i would in the future have more control over my body.
With this... i´ve get to think about that the actors have to have a good physic.
What do you think about that? Don´t you think that acting should be consider a sport? Because i really sweat in this class.
