On friday we went to the school theatre and started our practice.
The practice consisted in doing different excercises with our breathe.
We make the excercise slow, fast, keeping the air inside our lungs, focusing the air inside us in a specific place and those kind of things. After that we started working with the sounds and volumes.
The most difficult part for me was to make the low sounds because it included making some kind of weird gestures on my face. The soft sounds were easier for me than the ones that i had to increase my voice because at first i was feeling nervous.
After the practice my stomach hurt a lot.
I think the voice is one of the most important facts to create a character. What do you think, wouldnt it be difficult to represent a strong and loud character if you dont know how to talk very loud and hard?

An actor has to be able to transform himself, and that's why he has to start by getting to know himself. Think about it.

But how does he starts knowing himself? wouldnt you think is strange to get to know you by the breathing excercise?
ResponderEliminarYou start to get to know yourself by just dedicating time to explore what you can do with your body, voice and breathing. The latter is at the core of everything (try to stop breathing and you'll stop being you) so an exploration into your own breathing will probably lead you to an exploration into your own self. Take a look at the principles of Yoga if you're interested in this topic.
